Pirates’ minor league affiliates managed just one win on Tuesday, with Triple-A Indianapolis the lone bright spot. The Indians were the only affiliate to pick up a win, crushing the Iowa Cubs 18-6 behind a pair of home runs from Matt Gorski.

How the Pittsburgh Pirates’ farm clubs fared on Tuesday: TRIPLE-A INDIANAPOLIS (38-43): Defeated Memphis 8-5. Jose Hernandez, beginning a rehab assignment, started and pitched 0.2 of a scoreless inning with two walks and one strikeout.
Results of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ farm clubs on Saturday: TRIPLE-A INDIANAPOLIS (27-28): Defeated Toledo 10-7. Osvaldo Bido (3-3) was the starter and winner, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs and five hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.
It wasn’t quite a full day down on the Pittsburgh Pirates’ farm as Triple-A Indianapolis was off on Tuesday. One level lower in Double-A Altoona, Pirates prospects Connor Scott and Matt Gorski each collected three hits for the Curve with half of those six hits going for extra bases.
It was the busiest day in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league organization so far this year as Double-A Altoona kicked off their season while Triple-A Indianapolis played a doubleheader.
